I built Portfolio Terminal because I was tired of portfolio trackers that either looked like Excel from 2005 or charged $30/month for a Sharpe ratio. I wanted something that felt like a Bloomberg terminal but was free, private, and actually useful for regular investors.
So I built it myself.
It started with a spreadsheet. Like every investor, I had a Google Sheet tracking my positions. Then I wanted to calculate my VaR. Then my Sharpe ratio. Then benchmark against the S&P 500. The spreadsheet grew into a monster.
I looked at existing tools. Some were beautiful but shallow — just pie charts and pretty graphs with no real analytics. Others had the metrics but locked everything behind a paywall. And none of them took privacy seriously.
Portfolio Terminal is the tool I wanted to exist. Institutional-grade risk metrics. AI-powered import from any broker. Real benchmarking. And your data stays on your machine — not on my servers, not sold to anyone.
I'm a solo developer. I ship features based on what real users need. If something is broken or missing, tell me directly. I read every message.

No hidden fees, no dark patterns, no "free trial" bait. The core product is free because I believe access to good analytics shouldn't depend on your wallet.
Every feature is considered. I ship when it's ready, not when the sprint ends. Quality over velocity, always.
Not for day traders chasing memes. For people building long-term wealth who want to actually understand their portfolio risk and performance.
